Gosh! expands chilled range with plant-based sausage launch at Tesco

News

Veg-led food brand Gosh! has expanded its chilled line-up with the launch of two new plant-based sausage products, which have rolled out to Tesco stores nationwide.

The new Super Plants Sausages are available in two variants. The first is parsnip, leek and pea with linseed, and the second is mushroom, wild garlic and chia seed. The products launched on 13 April and have a recommended retail price of £2.99 for a pack of six.

Gosh! said the range has been developed in response to demand for plant-based products that deliver added nutritional benefits as well as an alternative to meat. The company said the sausages are made with vegetables, pulses, seeds and herbs, and are naturally high in fibre and protein.

According to the brand, each sausage contains at least 15 plant points, with the parsnip, leek and pea variant containing 17. Both products provide 7.8g of fibre per 100g and 8.4g of protein per 100g.

The launch was developed in partnership with chefs and registered nutritionist Becca Meadows, as Gosh! looks to strengthen its position in the growing market for functional, veg-led food.

Caroline Hughes, marketing director at Gosh!, said shoppers were increasingly looking for products that support health and wellbeing without sacrificing taste.

She said: “Consumers today are driven by more than just taste, they’re looking for food that delivers real value to their health and wellbeing.

“With our new Super Plants Sausages, we’re leading with this health-first mindset, creating a product that helps people feel their best without compromising on flavour.”

Meadows added that consumers were placing greater importance on understanding the nutritional quality of the food they buy, particularly when it comes to fibre and protein intake.

Gosh! said more retail listings are expected to follow the Tesco launch.
