M&S resumes click and collect
Marks & Spencer has reinstated its click and collect service following the cyber-attack earlier in the year.
The high street retailer paused some of its online order services after the attack on April 25.
“Click and Collect is Back! Our full online delivery offer is back – including Click & Collect across Fashion, Home & Beauty on M&S.com. You can now order online from any store across the UK.
“You can also now return your online order to any M&S store. A huge thank you for your support and shopping with us,” shared John Lyttle, Managing Director, Fashion, Home & Beauty on social media.

In a statement released in July, M&S chief executive Stuart Machin announced that the retailer expects a full recovery by this month.
“I’m really hoping by August, the majority of this is behind us, and customers will see the full M&S,” Machin said.
The news comes after the retailer resumed its standard online delivery in June and Sparks membership reward programme in July.
Last month four people were arrested in connection with the cyber-attack.

Yet, following the generic apology emailed to all accounts 13th May by Jane Wall in customer service there has been no further comms to the tens of thousands of valued customers. Why not? No mention of compensating those whose data was stolen. Hackers often blackmail companies and more often than not then sell such data on the dark Web.
The apology sent in may contained a naive statement regarding the data stolen & it’s potential criminal use:
“Unfortunately, the nature of the incident means that some personal customer data has been taken, but there is no evidence that it has been shared. The personal data could include contact details, date of birth and online order history. However, importantly, the data does not include useable card or payment details, and it also does not include any account passwords.”
I’ll leave the Marks & Spencer customers to judge the severity of the risk.
