Aldi is set to reimburse shoppers if they miss ParalympicsGB gold medal moments while shopping in-store at the discounter.

Building on the initiative first launched during the Olympics this year, Aldi has brought back its campaign in bid to encourage customers to rally behind the Paralympic team.

Customers who miss a medal while paying for their Aldi shop are now set to receive £100 back in Aldi vouchers over the next ten days.

In order to be eligible, shoppers should send a picture of their receipt to Aldi’s dedicated email address, with the first ten entrants needing to prove the time shown on their receipt is the same minute as when a ParalympicsGB athlete wins a gold medal according to the BBC Live Blog.

Aldi communications director Richard Thornton said: “The Paralympic games have finally arrived and now it is time to see ParalympicsGB go for gold. Just like we did for the Olympics, we’ll be reimbursing shoppers who miss ParalympicsGB win gold as a small consolation for not being able to celebrate in the moment.

“Shoppers jumped at the chance to get their money back last time around and with over 200 more medal events at the Paralympics than the Olympics, even more people have the chance to win– perhaps putting the money towards a watch party for the next event so they can cheer on ParalympicsGB.”

The supermarket‘s latest initiative follows a series of schemes it has launched in a bid to celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic summer of sports.

Earlier this year, the grocery retailer introduced a sports Bursary with Team GB and Paralympics GB in an aim to provide coaching and funding to local communities.
