Co-op launches Coronation Street-inspired food range

Co-op has launched two new Coronation Street-inspired products in its latest tie-up with the TV soap.

The food lines include a six-pack of ‘Roy’s Rolls’ for £1.15 and The Kabin’s exclusive rhubarb and custard cupcakes, which are priced at £1.25 for a pack of two.

The launch follows on from previous collaborations between the partners, such as the Coronation Street chicken sandwich and Betty’s Hotpot, as well as a specially designed shopping bag.

The convenience retailer first began its collaboration with the soap in 2018, with the launch of its dedicated Weatherfield store façade, which is frequently featured throughout the series.

Co-op assistant partnerships manager, Lois McClure, said: “We’ve had such a great response from customers, colleagues and Coronation Street fans since the launch of the Weatherfield Co-op store in 2018 and we’re excited to continue building on our partnership and our shared sense of community spirit.

“As a convenience retailer, we’re at the heart of local life and it’s always a pleasure to bring more of the cobbles to Co-op – we know this resonates with our customers so it’s great to be involved in providing them with more opportunities to engage closer with such an iconic show.”
