Supermarket giant Tesco has come under fire by frustrated shoppers as they found themselves unable to buy food.
The Big 4 grocer was forced to apologise to customers when a technical error left them unable to make purchases or amend their existing basket online.
Others also reported difficulties with booking a delivery slot, wish issues beginning at around 11am yesterday, according to the website DownDetector.
One customer tweeted: “[Tesco] your website for online orders is broken again. Every time I try to amend an order by adding items, it does it then immediately removes them. Similarly when removing items, they are removed and added back in again. And yes, I have tried logging out and deleting cookies.”

Another user added: “I am having issues on your website trying to book a slot, I had one but missed the deadline and now trying to rebook and non showing available for the next two weeks, if I sign in on a different account plenty slots showing? Is this the same issue everyone else is having?”

Others questioned the grocer on if its website was down, in which Tesco replied: “We are experiencing some issues at the moment and are trying to resolve this. Please try again later.”
The grocer added: “There’s currently an issue with the website that is stopping customers being able to complete basic functions such as booking a slot, checking out an order and amending orders.”
