Rapid convenience delivery app, Zapp, has appointed Ajay Lakhwani as its new commercial senior vice president.

Lakhwani joins from Deliveroo, where he spent just under three years at the firm. He joined the delivery service in April 2019, as global vice president of new businesses and was later promoted to global vice president of groceries and commercial partnerships.

Prior to Deliveroo, he held senior positions at Amazon UK, which included category leader of Amazon Fresh and Prime Now.

The news comes as in August, Deliveroo announced it has appointed former Amazon vice president Devesh Mishra as its new chief product and technology officer.

In July, Zapp has agreed a sponsorship deal with Chelsea Football Club.

The deal will initially run for two years and extends across Chelsea’s men’s team, Chelsea Women and the Academy sides.
