Zapp to set up store at London music festival

Grocery startup Zapp is setting up a “click and collect” service for concertgoers at a London music festival this month.

Fans at All Points East, a four-day event in late August, will be able to buy suncream, waterproof ponchos and other festival staples.

The items can be ordered via the app, when they will be packed at Zapp’s “dark store” in Victoria Park.

Zapp executive Steve O’Hear said the company was “proud and excited to be partnering with one of the leading London festivals”.

“We want to be there for our customers day in and day out, making sure they have everything they need to truly enjoy the moment,” he added.

Zapp launched in London last year, one of the on-demand services to spring up during the Covid-19 pandemic.

It raised $100 million in a funding round five months ago, but faces stiff competition for customers and future investment from behemoths like Getir, Gorillas and Dija.

The All Points East deal marks Zapp’s second major partnership of the summer.

In July, it became a sponsor of Chelsea F.C., and will have its first television advert broadcast at half-time on home games.
