Aldi to open seven new stores in November
Aldi is set to open seven new stores across the UK in November, creating up to 210 jobs, as the discounter continues to expand its supermarket estate.
The openings will take place across England and the Isle of Wight, including two new London stores in Stepney Green and Willesden.
The first new store will open in Basildon, Essex, on 12 November, followed by branches in Newport on the Isle of Wight and Matlock, Derbyshire, on 19 November.
Four further stores will open on 26 November in Stepney Green and Willesden in London, Orrell in Wigan and Waterlooville in Hampshire.
Each store is expected to create up to 30 jobs, with the expansion forming part of Aldi’s £370m investment in its UK store estate this year.
The openings come as Aldi continues to target underserved areas of the UK, with the discounter holding a long-term ambition to grow its estate to 1,500 stores nationwide.

Aldi UK managing director of national real estate Jonathan Neale said demand for new stores remained strong, adding that the latest openings would bring its “high-quality products at low prices” to more shoppers.
The November expansion follows a busy period of growth for the retailer. Aldi previously announced plans to open 24 new stores before Christmas, alongside relocating three existing branches.
The retailer currently operates more than 1,090 stores across the UK and is accelerating investment in its physical estate as it competes with other major supermarkets and fellow discounter Lidl.
Aldi has also committed to further expansion in 2027, with plans to invest a record £900m in new stores and distribution infrastructure, including more than 40 new supermarkets.
The latest openings come against a backdrop of continued investment in value, with Aldi having committed £340m to price cuts across more than 1,000 products this year.
