Nestlé has launched a vegan KitKat chocolate bar made of sustainable cocoa sourced from the Rainforest Alliance.
The chocolate bar has been designed by Nestlé’s confectionery research and development centre in York, and is meant to taste similar to the original KitKat.
The KitKat V, as the chocolate is known, will only be available in selected stores.
Nestlé partnered with the Rainforest Alliance to formulate the KitKat V, as part of the Nestlé Cocoa Plan.

The green initiative supports 7000 farmers.
“There is a quiet food revolution underway that is changing how people eat,” Nestlé confectionery head Alexander von Maillot said.
“We want to be at the forefront of that, championing the discovery of plant-based food and beverages.”
The Rainforest Alliance has already launched products with Nestlé including KitKat Ruby and KitKat Chocolatory Cacao Fruit Chocolate.
KitKat V will then be sold across multiple countries globally but only at KitKat Chocolateries and selected retailers.
The KitKat V chocolate bar is the latest addition Nestlé’s existing vegan product range, which includes non-dairy ice cream, coffee creamers and oat-based drinks.
