Asda expands beer range
Asda has launched seven new brews as part of the Asquith 1965 range, which includes various beer styles with prices starting at £1.00 for an individual 440ml can.
The retailer’s Asquith range has a seven-beer line-up which was developed by various brewing partners.
As part of the offer, there are hazy IPAs, Irish stouts and 5 per cent traditional world lager as well as 6.8 per cent heritage cider drinks.
Asda aims to make the range affordable to appeal to more shoppers, as the beer category has traditionally been associated with premium prices.
The range includes 1965 Lager and Heritage Orchard Cider priced at £5 per 440ml 4-pack and £10 per 440ml 10-pack and Dry Irish Stout for £5 per 4-pack and £10 per 8-pack.
The Asquith range launches exclusively at Asda this week in stores and online with prices beginning from £2.50 per product or £1.00 per can when buying a multipack.

Ryan Truswell, beer and RTD buying manager at Asda said: “With more beer drinkers looking beyond traditional lagers and exploring craft, heritage and flavour-led styles, Asquith gives our customers the chance to discover something new without the premium price tag.
“We’ve worked with some fantastic breweries and brewing partners to create a range that has genuine provenance and great flavour behind every can. What’s particularly exciting is the breadth of the collection, Asquith is our way of showing that great beer should be accessible to everyone.”
Some of the items on the list include the Heritage Orchard Cider which was crafted by Watsons and aims to meet the demand for heritage-style cider.
The line-up also includes Keep Rolling Hazy IPA and Stormy Maine Hazy NEIPA and Asda is the only major UK retailer to stock these beers.
