Majestic Wine’s organic wine sales have almost doubled in the past year, accelerating ahead of its forecast.
Sales of the specialist wine retailer’s organic wines across its retail and on-trade supply businesses soared 94% during the 12 months ending in July, compared to the same time last year.
Majestic’s new rate of growth has beaten its previous prediction in August 2023 – where the company said its organic wine sales would double within three years – driven by an expansion of the organic range, which now offers 169 products, up from 124 the previous year.

The organic range now includes Peyrassol ‘Les Templiers Blanc’ Organic 2023 (RRP £15.99), Alteno Organic Pinot Grigio (RRP £9.99) and Reyneke Organic Shiraz, available from October.
Majestic buying manager Elizabeth Kelly MW said: “We know that demand for organic wines is growing at pace.
“More and more wineries are switching to organic viticulture every year, so there is definitely an upward trend in the volume of high-quality, unique, organic wines being produced around the world. That’s a trend we expect to continue in the coming years and we believe we have curated the best selection of organic wines in the UK market to fulfil that demand.”
The range expansion follows the retailer’s recent £1m investment in two new stores and two refurbished sites as it reaffirms its commitment to experiential bricks and mortar.
