Walker’s Shortbread has announced the return of its popular Christmas Advent Calendar, set to be released this October at selected retailers and online.

This builds on the major success of the Advent Calendar set among consumers, which sold out for the past three consecutive years.

The limited-edition calendar, with an RRP of £20, offers an all-butter alternative to chocolate and is designed to open like a book.

Additionally, this year’s edition has a new illustration of Santa Claus dressed in a Walker’s tartan suit, about to deliver gifts down a chimney.

Inside the calendar is an illustration of a Christmas scene depicting a family celebrating together sharing gifts and shortbread.

The box has 24 windows with a biscuit within each one, including Shortbread Fingers, Hearts, Mini Chocolate Chip Shortbread, and Salted Caramel Squares.

Bryony Walker, commercial director of Walker’s Shortbread, said: “We wanted to bring a fresh touch of festive magic to this year’s calendar with our updated design. It offers a truly special way to count down to Christmas Day.

“Sharing a piece of our 128-year-old family tradition is incredibly important to us, and we love knowing that our shortbread provides a daily moment of delight throughout December.”

This Christmas promotion comes as the Scottish shortbread brand pushes towards a turnover following a decline in its full-year results.

The family-owned business has been operating for over 100 years and is committed to creating traditional shortbread using only four ingredients.
