Heinz has launched vegan alternatives to some of its classic recipes in time for the annual Veganuary challenge.
Having rolled out via online-only supermarket Ocado yesterday (28 December), the new plant-based products include Creamy Tomato Soup and Beanz & Vegan Sausages.
Also launching in Sainsbury’s on 8 January 2023, the Creamy Tomato Soup contains fermented soy, while Heinz Beanz & Vegan Sausages is made from wheat protein, rapeseed oil, potato starch and wheat starch.

Both innovations which have been in development for “several years” also contain no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives.
“We’re delighted to reveal these two new plant-based varieties in time for Veganuary, especially for those who we know have been calling for vegan versions of our classic products, including creamy soups,” Heinz brand manager, Manel Jordeo told The Grocer.
“With the added benefit of being one of your five a day, we are confident Heinz Creamy Tomato Soup and Heinz Beanz & Vegan Sausages will offer a nutritious, tasty and unmistakably Heinz meal, while also being great for recruiting new shoppers into the category.”
This comes as Ocado is set to expand its plant-based range for Veganuary further, rolling out Crave snacks across its online store.
Earlier this month, plant-based brand This announced its ‘Isn’t Streaky Bacon’ would be rolling out in Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose, while plant-based chicken brand Tindle is set to launch three new products across Morrisons stores.
