Beyond Meat expands vegan burger to more Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda stores

Plant-based brand, Beyond Meat is set to expand its Beyond Burger offering across 2,000 new retail distribution points via Big 4 grocers Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda.

The Beyond Burger, which won Best Vegan Patty at the Women’s Health Sorts Nutrition Awards 2022, is currently rolling out across a further 1,512 Tesco stores, 413 Sainsbury’s sites and 98 Asda stores as the brand celebrates World Vegan Day.

“At Beyond Meat, we’re tirelessly working to champion a more accessible and sustainable food system,” Beyond Meat UK regional sales manager, Steve Dalby said.

“With almost half of British adults considering reducing their intake of animal products in the future, we’re proud to be further rolling out our delicious plant-based Beyond Burger into more UK supermarkets so that people can continue eating what they love without having to compromise on taste or sustainability.”

This comes as a six-month follow up survey in September by global organisation Veganuary found that of 7,000 participants who tried to be vegan throughout January of this year, 80% have maintained a reduction of animal product consumption in their diets.

This year, the annual initiative broke all previous Veganuary records with 629,000 people taking part in almost every country across the globe.

Extending the selection of vegan products available both online and in-store is also becoming more popular among the UK’s leading supermarkets.

Last week, Asda launched a range of 97 vegan Christmas products as part of its largest festive offering to date with over 100 vegan and free-from products, as well as 326 new items across its stores.
