Sainsbury’s will celebrate the summer Bank Holiday with discounts on selected fresh fruit and vegetables.

Running from 28 August to 31 August, the offer aims to offer customers seasonal fresh produce at a lower price to prepare for meals over the upcoming long weekend.

According to the business, the current Bank holiday promotion is the first of four consecutive weekend Nectar price deals running through late August and September.

Some of the products on discount include the British Sweetcorn Single Cob which is now 35p with Nectar from 70p and White Large Flat Vitamin D Mushrooms 250g reduced to 62p from £2.48 with a loyalty card.

Richard Crampton, commercial director, fresh and convenience at Sainsbury’s said: “We know customers are looking for great value without compromising on the quality of the food they bring home.

“That’s why we’re offering half-price Nectar Prices on selected fruit and vegetables, making it easier to put fresh, nutritious food on the table over the Bank Holiday weekend and beyond.”

The existing Nectar customers need to scan their cards at the checkout instore to receive the discounts, and online shoppers will have their discounts applied automatically.

The supermarket retailer is pushing towards discounted essentials to attract more customers and is also running an Aldi Price Match scheme across everyday items.

This move comes after the supermarket chain rolled out over 7,000 Nectar discount offers throughout August to help customers save on essential shopping items.
