Sainsbury’s has rolled out over 7,000 Nectar discount offers throughout August to help customers save on essential shopping items.

Running from 5 August to 25 August, the supermarket retailer will be offering savings on selected fresh and grocery products over the summer.

This comes as consumers have displayed an increasing demand for simple and convenient mealtime solutions.

The searches for ‘frozen fish fingers’ have gone up by 200 per cent year-on-year, while searches for ‘kids meals’ have gone up by 31 per cent monthly.

The discounts will run across selected branded and private-label products, including Pizza Express, Higgidy and Tropicana.

Additionally, the retailer will have lowered prices on seasonal summer fruit, which includes mix and match on selected berries such as blueberries and blackberries, with a 2 for £3 Nectar prices multibuy available.

Richard Crampton, Sainsbury’s commercial director, fresh and convenience, said: ““With the summer holidays in full swing, we’re helping customers make their weekly shop go further with Nectar Prices on more than 7,000 fresh and grocery favourites.

“From easy family meals and food for summer days out to keeping the fridge stocked for the week ahead, we want to make great value easier to find throughout August, so families can enjoy good food for less.”

The supermarket retailer has been expanding its benefits for shoppers, recently linking the Nectars rewards scheme to Uber Eats, allowing customers to earn points for orders on the delivery platform.

Sainsbury’s has also launched a partnership with Merlin Entertainments to allow shoppers to save on excursions and activities across the UK, including attractions such as Legoland and Alton Towers.
