Plant-based food brand, Gosh!, has secured a nationwide partnership with Aldi to stock its ready-to-eat Snack Bites in 1,000 stores across the UK and Ireland.

Gosh! Snack Bites will be available in the ‘food to go’ section to help Aldi meet with the rising demand for healthier, more nutritious and ethical snacking alternatives.

Available in Smokey BBQ Sweet Potato and Moroccan Spiced Veg both plant-based snacks are made from 100% natural ingredients, baked, vegan and free-from the top 14 allergens such as gluten, soya and nuts.

Coming in recyclable ‘grab and go’ bag formats, Gosh! Snack Bites are created from vegetables, pulses, herbs and spices, meaning they contain a high nutritional value and can contribute to one of your five a day, according to the company.

It added that the listing is spearheaded by the current market momentum, as healthier ‘on the go’ products have the potential to be a huge growth area for the plant-based category in the year ahead.

“The plant-based category performed exceptionally well during the pandemic as consumer demand for healthier and more sustainable options skyrocketed,” Gosh! marketing manager William Topp said.

“With the UK chilled meat-free category rising by 19% YOY to £514 million, there is a growing audience to target for food-to-go products. However, this space is drastically underrepresented by healthier plant-based ranges.”

He added: “After experiencing significant success in other major UK retailers, we are extremely pleased that Aldi chose our Snack Bites range for its food-to-go section. Aldi customers can now enjoy a tasty treat with the confidence that they are making a healthy and sustainable choice.”
