Following a 10-second teaser released on 02 November, Aldi has unveiled the full 45-second festive film which sees its plucky Kevin the Carrot return for a tenth year.

Titled The Christmas Wish, the film sees Kevin and his daughter Chantenay set out to find their beloved cauliflower companion after he mysteriously disappears.

The advert opens with Chantenay wishing for Cauli Dog’s safe return, prompting the pair to put up ‘LOST’ posters and follow a trail of tiny paw prints into a snow-covered wilderness.

Their search takes several unexpected turns, including receiving questionable directions from a scarecrow and encountering what initially appears to be a grizzly bear, which turns out to be a cuddly squirrel.

Kevin also takes a tumble along the way as the pair continue their mission to reunite the family in time for Christmas.

The paw prints eventually lead them back home, where the family searches every corner before discovering Cauli Dog asleep inside a Christmas cracker.

Chantenay’s wish is granted as the family is reunited, with the advert ending on Aldi’s festive message: ‘All You Want For Christmas’.

The campaign has been created by McCann Manchester and marks another appearance for Kevin the Carrot, who first featured in Aldi’s Christmas advertising in 2016.

Cauli Dog became part of the story in last year’s campaign, when he delivered the engagement ring for Kevin’s proposal to Katie.

Aldi UK chief commercial officer Julie Ashfield said: “Christmas is all about moments that bring loved ones together. This year, Kevin and Chantenay are on a festive ‘pawsuit’ to bring Cauli Dog home, reminding us that the real magic of Christmas is being together with the people, and pets, we love.”

As part of a series of features looking at the flurry of 2026 Christmas Campaigns, Retail Gazette asks is Aldi’s dependable digital carrot beginning to feel overcooked as rivals scale up their own creative ideas?
