Aldi unveils first-ever vegan cheese alternative in time for Veganuary

Aldi is expected to launch its first-ever vegan alternative to cheddar cheese, available just in time for Veganuary from 2nd January 2022.

The new 200g plant-based mature cheddar block is made using coconut oil and retails for £1.39 and is also available in 150g grated cheddar packs retailing for £1.39.

The news comes after Aldi is set to introduce its largest vegan range to cater for thousands of Brits who are going vegan this January.

Last year, Brits led the way as the UK came out on top as the country with the most people following a plant-based diet during the month January.

The news comes as last month, cheesemaker Primula announced its plan to move into the vegan market after it unveiled its new plant-based range set to hit stores in 2022.

Additionally, Boursin unveiled its first non-dairy cheese with a plant-based garlic and herbs alternative.
