Waitrose has announced its partnership with channel Island convenience store chain Alliance to expand its presence in Jersey.
The supermarket will supply over 1,000 Waitrose products to Alliance’s four Jersey shops from next year.
The upscale retailer will provide Alliance with an array of ready meals, free-from and plant-based range, frozen products, prepared fruit and vegetables, meat, snacks and cupboard staples, as well as flowers and beauty products.
The first products are expected to hit shelves at Alliance’s St Ouen shop in March, before hitting stores at St Helier shops on Sand Street, Walker House and Broad Street in the following weeks.
“Alliance is a well established local business whose values when it comes to quality and service mirror our own,” Waitroses’ head of commercial sales Barry Delehanty said.

“Our partnership will allow us to provide even greater convenient access to Waitrose products for our Jersey customers.”
The new partnership with Alliance will serve to complement the three Waitrose stores in Jersey, including St Helier, Red Houses and St Saviour.
Alliances’ managing director Andrew Bagot added: “Alliance is delighted to partner with Waitrose whose quality and provenance is second to none.
“Alliance is a fast-moving convenience retailer and the partnership with Waitrose will further enhance the choice and quality for our customers.”
The news comes after Waitrose made inroads into the Scottish market after striking a deal with Margiotta, a 10-store convenience chain.
Aside from the Margiotta partnership, the grocer has plans to forge more partnerships across the UK in a bid to reach more customers.
