Booker and Snappy Shopper form delivery partnership to drive retail trade

Tesco subsidiary and wholesaler Booker has unveiled a strategic partnership with home delivery service Snappy Shopper to drive trade within its retail arm.

Booker currently works with independent retail customers trading under brands including Premier and Londis, while Snappy Shopper offers a rapid home delivery service for UK households, delivering groceries from convenience stores, including Premier.

Retailers can sign up to the delivery service online, while local shoppers can choose their store via Snappy Shopper’s website, with items delivered in as little as 30 minutes.

Booker said the new agreement, which will further enhance the home delivery options available to its retailers, will also help to drive sales and cash profit.

It comes as nearly 70% of the UK population has access to the quick commerce market, with the food category dominating this.

Snappy Group CEO and co-founder Mike Callachan said: “Our partnership with Booker is a brilliant next step in our Snappy Shopper journey. By working with the Booker group, we aim to unite the worlds of wholesale, retail, brand, and shopper – empowering communities across the UK.

“We believe in fostering strong, long-term partnerships, where together we strengthen the convenience home delivery sector and provide retailers across the country with more opportunities to grow sales and attract new customers.”

Booker Group managing director Colm Johnson added: “We are delighted to be enhancing our offering with Snappy Shopper. To offer our retailers a brilliant partnership alongside helping them grow is another fantastic step for us. This partnership forms part of our continued focus to deliver the best choice, price and service for our retailers.”

It comes as One Stop teamed up with Snappy Shopper earlier this year, offering its rapid delivery service in a bid to enhance customer experience and boost sales. The partnership officially rolled out to an initial 250 stores in June.
