Farmison hires former M&S MD as new CEO

Farmison has appointed former M&S managing director, Andy Adcock, as its new chief executive.

Adcock, who spent almost 20 years in food and trading roles for M&S and Big 4 grocer Asda, will begin the new role from today, on 13 June.

Most recently, Adcock supported the Asda transformation programme as managing director at IPL.

This appointment comes as the sustainable online meat retailer has established a new partnership with delivery service, Gopuff.

A selection of 12 core products including bacon, sausages, chicken and steaks will be available for 15 minute delivery in London.

In April, Farmison was acquired by a consortium led by ex-Asda boss Andy Clarke, and the company has since undergone a range of developments including the re-launch of its online subscription service and the roll-out of its new BBQ rubs.

Free weekend delivery has also now been added for the first time in its trading history, while its Ripon click and collect shop, Cut by Farmison, is now open at weekends.

“We’ve made incredible progress over the last 50 days and while there’s still plenty of work to do, our objective is to make sure Farmison comes back stronger than before,” Farmison executive chairman, Andy Clarke said.

“That’s why we’re investing in new ranges, enhanced service and new partnerships that bring more access to the incredible meat we offer. I’d also like to welcome Andy to the Farmison team – I’ve every confidence he’ll bring even more momentum as we build a sustainable future for our business.”
