Morrisons and Heinz re-launch ‘Ask for Henry’ free meal initiative

Morrisons has once again teamed up with Heinz to re-launch its ‘Ask for Henry’ free meal scheme.

Until 7 May, shoppers will be able to pick up a jacket potato topped with Heinz Beanz when they ‘Ask for Henry’ at one of the supermarket giant’s 397 café’s.

The initiative looks to ensure that shoppers have access to a free, hot meal amid the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, with 160,000 meals to be made available to the public.

This follows on from the scheme’s initial roll out in October 2022, which looked to support shoppers facing food price increases, and also formed part of the FMCG giant’s goal to help end food poverty.

“Our customers were very grateful for the ‘Ask for Henry’ initiative last year and as they continue to face financial pressures we’re pleased to be renewing our partnership with Heinz,” Morrisons category director for food service, Sian Whittle said.

Heinz president for northern Europe, Jojo de Noronha added that the partnership’s first initiative last year left the company “blown away by the reponse,” of consumers.

“We would really encourage anyone who feels they may need or want a hot, hearty meal to take us up on this offer – it’s open to absolutely everyone, and there is plenty to go around.

“Whilst we know it doesn’t fix the problem, we’d love to be able to help as many people as we can in this two-week period in our own small way.”
