Global dairy manufacturer Arla has reported group revenue increasing to approximately £6.5bn from £6.4bn in the year prior, crediting “resilient consumer demand”.

The company’s net profit rose to approximately £182.6m from £134m in the same period last year.

Arla reported a strong global demand for nutritious dairy and a recovery across its strategic brands, including Lurpak and Puck, which posted sales growth of 5.2 per cent and 9.9 per cent, respectively.

In particular, there was a strong performance in the UK and Sweden, with sub-brands Arla Skyr and Protein delivering volume-driven revenue growth of 39.6 per cent and 25.1 per cent, respectively.

Arla Foods Ingredients’ revenue surged by 19.3 per cent to approximately £743m, which was boosted by positive market conditions and strong demand across key segments.

The business revised its future outlook and expects an improved financial performance in its full-year results following the brand’s recovery.

The dairy manufacturer forecasted a volume-driven revenue growth of between 4 per cent and 6 per cent, which marks a significant increase from the 1 per cent to 3 per cent reported in February.

The Group’s full-year revenue is expected to be in the range of approximately £14.4bn and £15bn, which reflects a positive impact from the recent merger with farming co-operative DMK.

Torben Dahl Nyholm, CFO of Arla Foods, said: “What we are seeing is the underlying strength of our portfolio coming through. As prices normalised, consumers leaned into our brands with real conviction, into nutrition, into protein, into the products they trust.

“This is a broad-based recovery, across markets and across categories, and it is exactly what gives us confidence in the months ahead.”
