Poundland has launched a new price comparison campaign against Asda, Morrisons and Wilko’s prices, as it looks to solidify itself within the grocery space.
The campaign, which has rolled out across posters in the discount chain’s stores, displays the lines ‘ Like Asda, just cheaper’, according to reporting by The Grocer.
One of these signs claims that shoppers can save £1.40 on items such as Red Bull, Doritos and Galaxy chocolate when shopping at Poundland.
A second Asda price comparison shows a higher saving of £1.95, on products including a tin of Heinz tomato soup, five Cadbury Brunch bars, a bottle of HP sauce and an 80-bag box of PG Tips.

The Wilko price comparison shows a £5 saving on a variety of cleaning products, with the display highlighting that these can be purchased from Poundland for a total of £9.
Last August, the discounter introduced fresh meat and fish into its stores for the first time, moving it further into the grocery space.
In November, Poundland extended this, as it rolled out chilled and frozen food ranges across as many as 300 of its stores in a bid to compete with the UK’s supermarket giants.
The ‘Project Diamond’ revamp has already hit 350 stores across the UK since the start of the initiative three years ago, and almost all of Poundland’s UK locations will offer the new and extended ranges by this September.
