Five New Products: Guinness, TGI Friday’s, VFC, Ramona’s, Young’s Foodservice

The Flava People Guinness Sauce

The Flava People have teamed up with Diageo to launch a new range of Guinness-based sauces including a Guinness Ketchup and a Smoky BBQ sauce.

Tesco will launch the range later in April, which will also include a Beef and Onion stir in gravy.

The Irish beer brand is expected to add a malty, smoky flavour profile to the condiment variants and is aimed at “foodies” and “beer lovers”.

“The new sauces are designed to expand shoppers’ relationship with Guinness and food beyond that of the traditional – providing more premium, flavoursome alternatives on household cupboard staples, perfect as we enter the summer BBQ months,” The Flava People brand manager for Guinness Kitchen Olivia Parkes said.

The Guinness Smoky BBQ sauce and Guinness Ketchup comes in a 200ml bottle, retailing at £2 and will be available across 275 Tesco stores.

Iceland’s TGI Friday’s BBQ Range

Iceland has exclusively launched five new TGI Friday’s products including Burnt Ends with Honey BBQ, Beef Short Ribs with Maple BBQ, and Cheese & Jalapeño Hot Dogs.

The range will also include TGI Pulled Pork and TGI Skin On Fries as well as a dessert option of TGI Chocolatey Marshmallow S’mores Dessert.

The dessert includes a chocolate flavoured filling set on a caramelised biscuit crumb and is also topped with a caramelised marshmallow meringue.

Prices range from £2 for the Skin on Fries to £8.50 for the TGI Beef Short Ribs with Maple BBQ Rub and Sticky BBQ Sauce – and are currently available in-store or online.

Vegan Food Company (VFC) Sainsbury’s listings

York-based vegan food company VFC has secured a new listing in Sainsbury’s, which will see its Original Recipe Vegan Fried Chick*n Fillets and Vegan Fried Popcorn Chick*n stocked across 116 of the grocer’s stores.

VFC has only been trading for 15 months, with three of its products listed in Tesco during its first year.

“We’re delighted to have found a place on Sainsbury’s shelves, and to now be available to consumers right across the country,” VFC head of marketing Alison Reilly said.

“This is great news for everyone who wishes to reduce their impact on the planet and prevent animals from suffering while still enjoying the foods they love. VFC is proof positive that doing good can also taste really good.”

Ramona’s Houmous launches in Tesco

Houmous brand Ramona’s is set to launch in Tesco on 11 April, with its 500g tubs of Original and Jalapeno Houmous.

The news follows Ramona’s launch in Sainsbury’s last winter and hopes to expand its exposure across the Big 4.

“This is a fantastic listing, not only because we’ll be able to reach so many more grocery customers through Tesco, but also because we’ll be located right in the heart of the dip aisle and we know our product and branding stands out amongst the bland and boring sea of beige,” Ramona’s head of sales and marketing Andrew Dobson said.

Both the Jalapeño and Original houmous products will retail in Tesco for £3 for a 500g tub.
