Greek and Mediterranean food brand Odysea is expanding into the ready meal category with the launch of three dishes at Sainsbury’s.

The brand is launching three products: Linguine with Tomato, Spinach & Feta, Linguine with Ragu Alla Bolognese and Linguine All’Amatriciana for an RRP of £5.10 each.

Odysea made the range to offer shoppers a convenient option for dining to fit into busy everyday routines.

The new range was developed using traditional Mediterranean recipes and cooking techniques according to the business.

According to the brand, the ready meals were made using High Pressure Processing (HPP), which eliminates harmful microorganisms after the product has been sealed.

The move aims to maintain the taste and texture of the meals while supporting an extended shelf life without the use of preservatives.

The brand’s use of HPP technology reflects a difference from the UK market, which introduces traditional cooking and modern technology to provide shoppers with a closer experience of a freshly prepared meal.

Additionally, the ready meals are in skin-pack packaging to protect the products when being transported and allow the ingredients to be clearly visible.

Panos Manuelides, Odysea founder said: “Odysea has always focused on bringing quality Greek and Mediterranean food to its consumers.

“With our first foray into the ready-meal category, we’ve made sure we apply the same long-standing ethos of the brand, so we’re thrilled to have these delicious dishes available to UK consumers in Sainsbury’s this September.”

This marks an expansion for the brand, which previously collaborated with Waitrose to launch a sheep milk’s feta in May.
