Jisp has launched an online version of its grocery delivery app as part of its efforts to extend consumer reach and engage with the older generation.
As part of its bid to reach a wider audience, the grocery delivery company will allow customers to order groceries through Jisp’s home delivery and click & collect services via their desktop, laptop or tablet, without downloading an app.
Jisp’s Scan & Save feature – which allows shoppers to make savings while they are shopping in-store – is also expected to benefit from the wider audience. Currently, 12% of Scan & Save users are under the age of 20, while 17% are over 50. Both age groups are expected to increase after being introduced to Jisp via the web version.

“We want to give our Jisp customers a great experience for them to decide which experience works for them, using the services on offer locally at their convenience,” said Jisp’s coo Greg Deacon.
Deacon believes that many consumers will “prefer to use the online experience to trial or exclusively use the services from Jisp at their local store”.
He then expects those customers to “move over to a full app experience” once they become confident using the in-store service Scan & Save and augmented reality vouchers.
“Incrementally, delivery will benefit from those ordering at home or at work to get groceries delivered locally,” he added. “This should increase shoppers, frequency of orders and value of basket for our partner stores.”
By introducing these new age groups, Deacon expects to help boost the “continued growth in sales, revenue, and margin for our participating retail partners, alongside the thousands already using the full app experience”.
All stores offering home delivery, click and collect or Scan & Save will be issued new point-of-sale materials in-store.
