Premier Foods has launched its new Paxo Veggie Fillers, expanding its selection of vegan offerings.  

The company will release two varieties for the range, Sundried Tomato and Oregano and Spicy Mediterranean.  

The product features “blended focaccia breadcrumbs, flavourings and seasonings” which are designed for stuffing into vegetables such as peppers and mushrooms.  

According to the producer, the range should be available for an RRP of £1.49 per 120g pack and contains fewer than 100 calories in each portion.

Research provided by Premier Foods reveals that over a third of UK customers follow a meat-free or “flexitarian” diet. 

The business said that it aims to capitalise on the growing market for vegetable-based meals.  

“As more people look for ways to reduce their meat consumption, they are also looking for ways to create veggie-based options,” Premier Foods brand director Helen Touchais said. 

“We know that dishes such as stuffed peppers appeal to a large range of shoppers, yet premade options are not always suitable for everyone or have a short shelf life. 

“With the flavourings and seasonings category being skewed towards hearty dishes such as roast dinners, this new range from Paxo allows retailers to broaden the appeal of the category and attract new shoppers.”
