Mondelez has unveiled its new vegan Cadbury Plant Bar, which is set to launch across the UK and Ireland this autumn.
The new twist on the company’s Cadbury Dairy Milk Bar reportedly uses almond paste instead of milk, which provides a “similar taste and texture.”
The product comes in two flavours, Smooth Chocolate and Smooth Chocolate with Caramel Pieces.
The range will be available at Sainsbury’s from November 2021 at an RRP of £2.50 per 90g bar, with a wider launch in other retailers scheduled for January 2022.

The confectionary brand said that the release “underscores Mondelez International’s ongoing commitment to offering consumers greater choice.”
According to the producer, the bar will also be wrapped in 100 per cent plant-based packaging sourced from ISCC certified plastics from renewable sources.
“With 500,000 participants in this year’s Veganuary, the increasing public appetite for varied snacking options and plant-based alternatives has never been more apparent,” Mondelez International UK managing director Louise Stigant said.
“At Mondelez, evolving consumer demands have long informed our ambition to provide a wide range of products that work for everyone and the new Cadbury Plant Bar range is the latest stop on this journey.”
