Majestic announces £4m investment in store expansion
Wine retailer Majestic has announced a £4m investment in growing and upgrading its brick-and-mortar estate in the upcoming year.
Majestic plans to open at least four new stores and has a programme of improvements for its existing shops across the UK.
The business recently opened a new store in Trowbridge, situated on Wicker Hill in close proximity to The Shires Shopping Centre.
The new 4,145 sq ft location has stocked the brand’s full range of over 1,000 high-quality wines, including a dedicated section for 72 Fine Wines plus a growing selection of beers, spirits and low and no-alcohol alternatives.
The colleagues at the Trowbridge store will host free wine tastings seven days a week, and shoppers will have the opportunity to try a selection of wines before they buy at the in-store Tasting Counter.
This opening also supports the brand’s B2B division, Majestic Commercial, which acts as a supplier to gastropubs, bars and restaurants in Wiltshire.

Additionally, the store has an online ‘Shop Local’ proposition which allows users to order from the stock available at the Trowbridge store for home delivery or click collect within four hours.
The company placed store-based retailing at the centre of its growth plans since its separation from Naked Wines and its acquisition by Fortress Investment Group in 2019.
Since 2019 the business has made a significant investment in opening over 25 new shops across England, Scotland, Wales and Jersey and renovating dozens more.
John Colley, executive chairman and CEO of Majestic Wine Group, said: “Our Trowbridge opening marks the start of another important year of investment for the Majestic business.
“Our experiential stores and expert colleagues have always been right at the heart of what we do best at Majestic, and they remain a central part of our strategic plan as we expand into new communities across the UK.
“This is just the start of our exciting expansion plans for the year ahead and underscores our confidence in the future of experiential bricks and mortar retail.”
