Green’s On The Go opening pushes Greens Retail Group donations past £60,000
Green’s On The Go has marked the opening of its new Dunfermline convenience store with £2,000 in donations to local youth organisations.
The Hospital Hill store, which officially opened on June 25, awarded two £1,000 grants to Dunfermline High School and Brucefield Youth Organisation.
The donations take Greens Retail Group’s total community giving past £60,000.
The funding was awarded through Co-op Wholesale’s Making a Difference Locally charity, which raises money through the sale of Co-op own-brand products in store.
Dunfermline High School will use its £1,000 donation to support the creation of a new enclosed outdoor space for its Enhanced Support Pupils.
The funding will go towards outdoor equipment for the area, which is expected to benefit around 60 pupils by providing a safe and engaging space tailored to their needs.
Representatives from the school, including depute headteacher Debbie Aitken and two school captains, attended the store opening.
Brucefield Youth Organisation has also received £1,000 to buy new arts and crafts supplies, sports equipment and board games.
The volunteer-led group supports around 22 children from Primary one to Primary seven across Dunfermline, providing an inclusive space for young people from local primary schools.
Green’s Retail said the donations reflected Green’s On The Go’s ambition to play an active role in the local community from launch.
Jack Brady, speaking on behalf of Green’s Retail, said: “We are incredibly proud to support these fantastic local organisations as part of our store launch.
“Reaching £60,000 in community donations through our partnership with Making a Difference Locally is a fantastic milestone for Greens Retail Group, and we are delighted that Dunfermline High School and Brucefield Youth Organisation are part of that journey.
“We hope these contributions make a real difference to young people locally.”
The launch underlines how independent convenience operators are using local partnerships and community funding schemes to strengthen their role beyond everyday retail.
For Green’s On The Go, the Dunfermline opening begins with a direct investment in local young people, while adding to Greens Retail Group’s wider record of community support.
