“The services provided by food banks are more important than ever in the current climate, especially over the festive period and we’re committed to ensuring those that rely on them have access to a wide range of high-quality foods.”
The retailer worked with surplus food redistributor Company Shop Group to deliver over 2,500 free Christmas meals to the social enterprise. Additionally, Aldi teamed up with The Salvation Army and InPost Lockers to make it easier for shoppers to donate winter apparel through a warm clothing and post-Christmas clear-out appeal.
Shoppers can continue to give food to local community groups through the donation points in Aldi stores across the country.
