Sprouts top Uber Eats festive list as it partners with supermarkets for last-minute orders
Uber Eats has teamed up with Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Co-op to deliver festive groceries in 30 minutes, to boost convenience for shoppers this Christmas.
With festive delivery slots taken up weeks in advance, the on-demand food delivery service aims to provide its customers with festive essentials fast this year, having experienced a 96% surge in December 2023 orders.
Alongside its partnership with leading supermarkets, frozen food specialist Iceland will also open select stores for delivery-only orders on Boxing Day, ensuring households can restock essentials and festive treats via the Uber Eats app.

The rapid delivery firm has also unveiled its predictions for popular products this Christmas after revealing its most ‘last-minute’ searches last year.
Sprouts, Christmas crackers, parsnips, turkey, and pigs in the blankets were the most sought after products, while the advent calendar became the most popular gifting item, and prosecco topped the list of the UK’s favourite drinks choice.
Uber Eats grocery and retail director Alex Troughton said: “We see a huge surge in demand as people prepare for their festive celebrations. With Uber Eats’ best-in-class technology and consumer product, customers can easily find gifts, Christmas essentials, and party supplies from some of the UK’s most trusted grocery and retail partners.”
