Aldi is joining in with the Euro 2024 football final celebrations by reminding customers ahead of the game the best time to shop.

The supermarket has revealed that 8am to 9am and 7pm to 10pm are the quietest times for customers to pick up their shopping on Friday and Saturday ahead of the game.

It has also confirmed normal opening hours will remain in place at the grocery retailer’s UK stores on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July.

Aldi UK communications director Richard Thornton said: “We can’t wait to join family and friends to watch England bring it home on Sunday.

“Aldi already has everything you need for the weekend ahead and, better still, there are no penalties with our prices.”

Alongside this, the discounter is celebrating Sunday’s England versus Spain match by offering 10 fans the chance to win their party shopping for free.

From party foods, sides and desserts, to a selection of drinks, shoppers are being encouraged to contact the supermarket and let Aldi know why their Euros party deserves to win, between Friday 12 July and Sunday 14 July.

Thornton added: “So whether you’re planning a halftime feast or a post-match party, send us your party plans and you too could be a last-minute winner”.

Aldi’s football preparation comes as UK supermarkets gear up for a bumper weekend as fan’s flood to shops ahead of the upcoming game.

Among other predictions, Sainsbury’s has said that beer sales are to increase 200% year-on-year, while Tesco has forecasted selling four million beers, and Asda expects to shift even more large screen TVs, after already selling 20,00 during Euros 2024 so far.

Aldi’s football campaign is open until 11.59pm on Saturday 13 July, and can be contacted via email at aldieurosparty@citypress.co.uk.
