Easter lunch: The best supermarkets deals for the classic Sunday roast

With the Easter weekend fast approaching, UK supermarkets are gearing up for a surge in shoppers looking to celebrate the bank holiday with a traditional Sunday roast.

As value for money continues to dominate the headlines, consumers are on the hunt for the best deals and special offers as they look for ways to make their seasonal celebrations as affordable as possible.

In response to this, supermarkets are battling it our to be the most competitive across a number of areas – from meal deals to feed the whole family to low-cost – or even free – lunches in their cafes as they look to help families out over the Easter break.

We round up what’s on offer…

Morrisons

Morrisons has launched a new traditional roast deal for the Easter holidays that includes a leg of lamb and all the trimmings for under £24.

All items included in the meal are British and customers can pick up a tender leg of lamb, parsnips, carrots, savoy cabbage, potatoes, mint sauce and a cheesecake for dessert for just £23.82.

In total, the new deal – which has been pushed heavily across TV advertising  – means the entire roast will feed six and cost less than £4 per person.

Additionally, the supermarket chain has partnered with Kellogg’s to launch a breakfast club where each member of the family can request a free bowl of cereal each this Easter, running until 24 April.

Both children and adults can choose from a bowl of Cornflakes, Rice Krispies or Coco Pops, with a choice of dairy and non-dairy milk, when they order a ‘Kellogg’s breakfast’ before 11am, in any of the supermarket chain’s 397 cafés across the UK.
