Asda has been crowned as the best Easter supermarket for consumers, according to the latest research from online supermarket Britsuperstore.
The study scored UK supermarkets on a number of factors, including most affordable eggs, variety of easter chocolates, number of free-from easter chocolates, and number of own-brand easter eggs.
According to the data, both Asda and Sainsbury’s are offering the most affordable price for a Kitkat Chunky easter egg, at £1.25.
Other retailers like Tesco and Aldi also have affordable Easter gifts up for grabs, as they are selling a 127g Maltesers easter egg for the same price (£1.25).

The research was released as Google searches for “easter eggs” begin to skyrocket as the Easter holidays approach.
It also found that Asda sells the most easter-related treats for vegans, with 16 products to choose from at the time of writing. Additionally, Tesco has 14 Easter treats while Waitrose has 13 treats suitable for vegans.
“Easter can be an expensive time, particularly for families with young children. In recent years, the price of chocolate has surged. Last week, for example, Cadbury’s increased the price of Mini-Eggs,” director of online supermarket Britsuperstore, Richard Price said.
The beloved brand also confirmed that its Dairy Milk Buttons sharing size bag had shrunk slightly due to rising production costs.
Price added: “These are widely available from discount shops such as Home Bargains, Poundland, B&M, and Savers. The National Trust also offers free Easter Egg hunts throughout the UK.”
It comes as almost two thirds (64%) of consumers agreed that Cadbury offers the best chocolate treats at Easter.
