Co-op rolls out own-brand coffee lines in stores

Co-op is set to launch its 100% Fairtrade own-brand coffee, Ever Ground across stores for the first time.

The brand which launched in 2020 as a hot drink on-the-go solution was previously served via Co-op’s in-store coffee vending machines.

However, from 23 November the convenience retailer will be rolling out two new lines of coffee, Whole Bean and Ground Coffee across both Co-op and Nisa stores for shoppers to brew at home.

The new 200g lines will be available for £3.50 each, alongside the Ever Ground Latte and Oat Latte which launched during the summer.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Ever Ground to the shelves for the first time following the success of our hot drinks launch in 2020,” Co-op own-brand planning manager, Grace Bowker said.

“Our customers and members have already really resonated with our new brand as it not only makes delicious coffee, but the range is sourced on Fairtrade terms which means standing with farmers for fairness and equality, in countries such as Ethiopia, Brazil and Columbia.”

Fairtrade Foundation commercial director, Kerrina Thorogood added: “We’re delighted with Co-op’s Ever Ground range, which not only tastes delicious but is the latest example of their pioneering support for Fairtrade farmers.

“This new line provides the perfect blend of fairer prices and investment for hardworking coffee-growing communities so they can continue to produce quality beans and look after their natural environment.”

This comes as Co-op has launched its Christmas themed sandwich range as it looks to raise £50,000 from sales to help tackle inequality across UK communities.
