Aldi opens job applications as it looks for 100 new area managers

Aldi has opened applications for its Area Manager Programme as it looks to fill up 100 roles.

The year-long scheme trains applicants and helps to provide them with all the skills needed to run a collection of stores successfully.

For those meeting the requirements of the programme and offered the role as one of the discount grocers area managers, salaries will start at £44,000 with permanent contracts offered after the first year.

The position, which can be applied for via Aldi’s recruitment page, could see an area managers pay rise to more than £81,000 by the fifth year.

We’re on the lookout for some of the most hardworking and ambitious individuals to join our team as part of the Area Manager programme,” Aldi UK recruitment director, Kelly Stokes said.

“The scheme gives individuals the chance to learn the ins and outs of the sector at one of the fastest-growing retailers in the country, while also receiving in-depth training along the way.”

She added: “At Aldi, our colleagues are central to everything we do and we’re constantly searching for amazing individuals of all ages, roles and backgrounds to join our team.”

This news comes as Aldi announced earlier this month that it would also be creating around 3,000 jobs ahead of the festive period, as it gears up for its “biggest-ever Christmas”.

Aiming to fill over 2,000 temporary and full-time store positions, a further 850 roles will also be created across its 11 regional distribution centres, including warehouse selectors, logistics assistants and lorry drivers.
