Iceland and The Food Warehouse will close its doors early on Sunday to celebrate the women’s England team reaching the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 final.

“We’re immensely proud of our lionesses and how far they have come to make it to the final on Sunday,” Iceland managing director Richard Walker said.

“Sporting achievements like this don’t happen very often so we think it’s only right to give our store teams the opportunity to watch this historic moment.”

The news comes as Iceland has removed a reference on its website to its palm oil and plastic pledges, following criticism that these commitments have not been met.
