Marks and Spencer will be giving colleagues across the UK an additional day off for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June.
The extra holiday pays tribute to the Queen’s 70th anniversary since her accession to the throne. This year a bank holiday will run from June 2 to June 5 to mark the event.
While M&S stores will still be open over the bumper weekend, all M&S stores, distribution centres & customer service colleagues will be offered an extra day off to use across any of the four days.

The move comes after the retailer was named an official partner of the Platinum Jubilee Pageant as it has been the “heart of community celebrations all over the UK for over 138 years.”
“Everyone at M&S is looking forward to celebrating this historic national occasion in just a few months’ time,” M&S Stores director Helen Milford said.
“To help our colleagues celebrate, we’re pleased to be giving them an additional day of holiday to use over the Jubilee weekend. We hope they enjoy the celebrations.”
M&S has clarified all stores will remain open across the bank holiday, with the “exception of a small handful” and some might have “slightly reduced hours”.
