John Lewis veteran joins Parsley Box as new MD
Parsley Box has appointed former John Lewis veteran, Simon Russell as its new managing director.
In his new position, Russell will be responsible for customer service, product development and the day-to-day running of the UK business.
Russell spent 20 years at John Lewis in various leadership roles, which include general manager, managing director and most recently operations development director.
Prior to joining Parsley Box, he ran his own retail consultancy advising investors, retailers and start-up businesses on omnichannel strategy, digital transformation and turnaround, growth and financial sustainability.

According to the ready meal company the appointment will enable chief executive Kevin Dorren to “increase his focus on developing the group’s business”, and in particular strategic growth opportunities.
The appointment comes as Parsley Box reported that trading performance running up to the year ended December is “in line” with the 30 September trading update.
It also revealed the group is “on track” to deliver full year revenue marginally over the £25 million forecast, representing modest year on year growth.
The group’s year-end cash balance is expected to be approximately £2.2 million.

Very interesting list of priorities that Simon will be faced with. Clearly outsourced prepared meals presents all sorts
of challenges including does it look like the picture? There is also a hint of a bit of diversification, what are they doing selling garden furniture and bird /insect boxes?
