Morrisons, Aldi and Asda have launched their Easter price campaign, slashing the price of some of their British seasonal veg range to 8p.

Available from 14 to 20 April, Morrisons loyalty More Card holders can pick up 1kg of British carrots, 500g of parsnips and whole swedes for 8p each.

Shoppers can also purchase 2kg of the supermarket chain’s ‘The Best’ potatoes for less than half price, at just £1.10.

Alternatively, customers shopping at Asda can also buy 1kg of carrots, one swede, 360g of broccoli, 500g of parsnips and 2kg of potatoes for just 8p each. Available from 15 April to 21 Monday, the discount comes as part of the grocer’s Rollback scheme and does not require a loyalty card.

Elsewhere, Aldi has dropped the price of its carrots to 8p, while shoppers can also buy its broccoli, loose garlic, white potatoes and spring onions for 15p each,  and its cucumbers for 59p. The campaign is set to last from 15 to 19 April.

Morrisons head of marketing events Gareth Lloyd said: “Easter is a time for families to come together and enjoy great food.

“We’re proud to offer our customers quality, fresh British produce at prices that help make their celebrations affordable. With these huge savings, we’re making it easier for everyone to enjoy a traditional Easter meal without compromising on quality.

“These vegetable price cuts are part of Morrisons ongoing commitment to deliver quality and value, particularly during key seasonable moments when food plays an even bigger role within our customers’ households.”

The new campaign follows Morrisons last month revealing a ‘magic’ revamp of its fresh food counter concept, Market Street, as it overhauls the trading team and eyes future growth.
