Morrisons launches £10 match day meal deal for summer football
Morrisons has launched a £10 match day meal deal as it looks to tap into demand for at-home food during the summer football season.
The supermarket said the deal feeds four people for £2.50 each and offers savings of up to £14.75.
Available in stores and online from June 17 to July 28, the offer includes two mains, two sides and a four-pack of drinks.
Morrisons said the range was inspired by US game-day food and featured products including slow-cooked barbecue ribs, buffalo wings, pulled pork, loaded nachos, Southern fried chicken, fries, onion rings and bacon mac and cheese.
Shoppers can mix and match more than 1800 combinations of mains, sides and drinks across the meal deal.
The supermarket said the launch came as 64 per cent of Brits were expected to tune into this summer’s football tournament, with 55 per cent watching at home because of late-night kick-offs.
Morrisons is also running a Pizza Counter Meal Deal, offering two pizzas and one side for £10, with savings of up to £5.50.
New limited-edition products include an American Hot Dog Stuffed Crust Pizza for £6, Football Brownie Cups for £2.50 and a Detroit Pepperoni & Hot Honey Pizza for £6.
The pizza deal is available until July 19.
The grocer is also launching a Curry Takeaway Banquet for Two, featuring Chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala curry bags with two sides for £5.50.
The curry deal will be available in store from June 17 to July 7 and offers savings of up to £4.50.
Morrisons trading director of meal solutions Sian Whittle said: “We know this summer’s tournament will bring people together in living rooms across the country, often late at night due to the time difference, so we’ve created a range of meal deals built around easy, flavour-packed sharing food.
“From wings and ribs to loaded nachos and fries, the range is all about making it simple to host a great match night at home without stretching the budget.”
