Weetabix has redistributed the equivalent of 25m breakfasts to charities and community groups across the UK as part of its work to tackle food insecurity.

The cereal giant has reached the milestone through its long-running partnership with food redistribution charity Felix, formerly known as FareShare.

The partnership, which began in 2014, has helped surplus, good-quality cereal reach people who need it rather than going to waste.

Weetabix said the donations have supported more than 8,000 charities and community groups across the UK, helping more people access a nutritious start to the day.

The food manufacturer donates a range of cereal products each year to schools, food banks, community hubs and local charities.

Its employees also volunteer with Felix, helping to sort, pack and distribute surplus food.

In 2025, Weetabix provided the equivalent of 2.1m breakfasts through the charity, reaching almost 3,000 organisations across the UK.

These included schools, youth clubs, mental health charities, refugee support groups and organisations working with older people.

The business also supports Felix’s annual Fueling Fuller Lives summer campaign, which helps families during the school holidays when food and childcare costs often rise.

Weetabix marketing and NPD director Francesca Theokli said reaching the 25m breakfast milestone was a proud moment for the business.

“At Weetabix, our mission is to ready the nation with nutritious goodness, made the right way,” she said.

“Reaching 25m breakfasts is a proud milestone for us but what matters most is the difference this makes to communities across the UK.

“We’re hugely grateful to Felix and our Weetabix colleagues who volunteer their time to help ensure food reaches those who need it most.”

Felix head of food partnerships Nicole Sanchez-Castillo said the charity was “enormously grateful” for Weetabix’s continued support.

“We are delighted that with their support we have been able to deliver the equivalent of over 25m breakfast servings,” she said.

The milestone comes after Weetabix introduced a best-before extension across its products in July 2025, helping to reduce food waste and increase the amount of surplus cereal available for redistribution.

The move has allowed more good food to be donated to communities across the country rather than being sent to waste.
