Too Good To Go and Greggs meet 6m meals redistribution milestone
Surplus food marketplace Too Good To Go and Greggs have announced a milestone of saving over 6m meals from going to waste across the UK.
This latest achievement comes after a successful partnership between the organisations to work towards tackling food waste.
Since Too Good To Go launched in 2016, it has helped save over 500m meals around the world, with over 180m users registered.
Greggs first partnered with the social enterprise in 2021, and now surplus food can be saved from over 2,000 shops in the UK.
This move backs the company’s sustainability plan, which involves a commitment to reduce extra food waste by 25 per cent compared to 2018 levels.

Country director at Too Good To Go for UK and Ireland Chelsea Kerr said: “We’re incredibly proud to reach the milestone of 6 million Surprise Bags saved with Greggs. This partnership shows the real impact we can have when we work together to prevent food waste at scale.
“Every Surprise Bag saved not only saves great food but also helps reduce unnecessary carbon emissions.”
To commemorate the achievement, users who purchase a Greggs Too Good To Go surprise bag between 20 and 27 April can enter a prize draw to win a £50 Greggs Gift Card and a £50 Too Good To Go voucher.
A Greggs spokesperson added: “Reaching 6 million Surprise Bags saved is a fantastic milestone for our partnership with Too Good To Go.
“It reflects the commitment of our shop teams and customers to reducing food waste while ensuring good food is enjoyed rather than wasted.
