Jolly Hog enters the sausage roll category with latest launch
The Jolly Hog has launched The Jolly Hog Proper Sausage Roll, which marks the brand’s entrance into the on-the-go snacking category.
The move aims to meet the increasing demand for convenient snacking options at supermarkets while adhering to animal welfare standards.
According to the business, the sausage roll was created using outdoor-bred pork that is RSPCA Assured to address the shopper demand for transparent sourcing.
The range aims to bring more variety to the category by delivering farm shop and deli-quality sausage rolls for on-the-go meals.
Olly Kohn, co-founder of The Jolly Hog, said: “The sausage roll is a British staple, but too often the quality does not match what shoppers really want.

“We saw an opportunity to do things differently by focusing on great tasting pork from trusted farms and combining it with proper, all butter pastry. For us, it’s about putting the sausage back in the sausage roll and giving people a premium option they can feel good about buying and eating.”
The Jolly Hog Proper sausage roll will be sold in Tesco from 13 April and Sainsbury’s from 15 April onwards, with a recommended retail price of £2.50 and a promotional price of £2.
This builds on the high consumer demand, with research from Lumina Intelligence’s UK Food to Go Market Report 2026 estimating that the food to go market is set to reach nearly £25bn in 2026.
The launch comes after the brand recently unveiled two premium sausage packs in partnership with British condiment brands Marmite and Colman’s Mustard.
