Sainsbury’s has unveiled a new high-protein meal range, which includes 19 new products across ready dishes, breakfast essentials, bakery and dairy products.

The move aims to meet the growing consumer demand for protein and nutrient-rich food, with online searches for ‘high-protein’ increasing by 57% year-over-year at the supermarket.

James Campbell, Sainsbury’s director of fresh product innovation, said: “Making it easier for everyone to enjoy good food is something that matters to us at Sainsbury’s. We understand people have different nutritional needs, appetites and tastes, and that continues to guide how we develop our products.”

As part of the mains offer, the retailer is selling High Protein Pesto Chicken Tortiglioni and High Protein Beef Bolognese Tagliatelle.
