Asda has unveiled its latest festive offering, a boxed Christmas dinner.

The Asda slow-cooked turkey with all the trimmings will set customers back £37.97 and serves 6 people. According to the retailer, its boxed dinner is the cheapest fresh offering on the market, beating out Aldi and Sainsbury’s.

It takes one hour and 40 minutes to cook.

It contains a slow-cooked stuffed turkey breast wrapped in bacon, pigs in blankets, Sous Vide roast potatoes, honey-glazed parsnips and carrots, spiced red cabbage, Brussel sprouts and a turkey gravy.

This product launch comes as research showed that one in five hosts found cooking during the festive period stressful, and 60% don’t know where to start when it comes to prepping dinner for the big day.

Sarah Denyer, product development manager at Asda said: “This year at Asda, we’ve taken care of all the hard work, so that customers can focus on enjoying the big day, knowing they’ll serve a flavour-packed, delicious Christmas dinner without any of the stress that comes with hosting.”

“We’re launching it in our standard own-brand range, bringing all customers a high-quality Christmas meal that’s easy to recreate on the day, delivering great value and convenience, but without compromising on taste or festive flair!”
