Aldi is rolling out a new ‘Live Healthy’ logo across its own-label range to make it easier for customers to identify products that contribute to a balanced diet, in line with the UK’s Eatwell Guide.

The new emblem will begin appearing on selected fresh produce, soups and yogurts from next week, highlighting items that meet strict nutritional criteria.

The move forms part of Aldi’s wider commitment to help customers make healthier choices, following the Government’s new 10-year health strategy.

The UK’s fourth-largest supermarket has pledged to ensure 85% of sales come from healthy products by 2027, and to increase fruit and veg portions sold by 14% over the same period.

“At Aldi, our mission has always been to make a variety of healthy food affordable for all,” said Aldi UK chief commercial officer Julie Ashfield.

“We know our customers want affordable, healthier options that fit into their everyday lives. The ‘Live Healthy’ logo is a simple, trustworthy signpost to help them do just that – without compromising on price or taste.”

The initiative builds on Aldi’s existing nutrition initiatives, such as its Super 6 fruit and veg offers and its Get Set to Eat Fresh partnership with Team GB and ParalympicsGB, which teaches children cooking and nutrition skills.

The new logo also follows similar schemes introduced at fellow retailers, including M&S’ ‘Follow the Flower‘ and Lidl’s ‘Live Well‘ labelling initiatives.
